DBTech News

We have added a new "Bundles" feature here on vBEC. You can see it by clicking on "Product info" and hitting the "Available Bundles" tab. To start with we have bundles designed around Instant Communication, Easy Access to Info/Forums and overall Site Improvement. You can read a bit more about it here.

@bszopi has put his latest mod up on DBTech for you to play with. vBEditorTabs is at the moment a system to allow you to configure smilie tabs to easy access the smilies you want by category, as well as users having their own "favourites" tab they can store the smilies they like most in. In future we hope to expand the tabs to have various other functions. You can read all about it here.

vBAnalytics v1.1.3 Gold has been released. All outstanding bugs should now be fixed and there have been some additional changes made to improve accuracy. You can read about it here.

UserThreads has received a bugfix update and is now v 1.0.1 It's looking impressive and we hope to have a Lite availabe in the next couple of weeks as well. You can read about the update here.

What's Going On

@Belazor is working on His first joint vB/XF mod, and his first vB to XF port.
@Dylan is still working on his his huge new project.
@Darkwaltz4 is working on vBArcade and a new modification still.
@Ozzy47 is still continuing work on his new (unnamed) project which should be out soon.
@bszopi is working on making his vBEditorTabs mod available for purchase
@Pandemikk is still working on vBAnalytics v 1.2
@Mokonzi is working on turning User Threads gold.

Coming Soon

vBAvatars will be dropping on XenForo in the next 2 weeks if all goes to plan.
The joint vB/xF modification will be dropping on vBulletin in the next 2 weeks, and Xenforo shortly afterwards.
vBEditorTabs will be entering public beta next week
@Ozzy47 will hopefully be releasing his new mod in the next 1-2 weeks.
User Threads Gold should be out in the next week or two, and Lite should be accompanying it.

Decado's Corner

Reasonably quiet week this week, but lots of stuff is on the way, as you can see from the coming soon section. Fillip is still getting to grips with XenForo, but our first mod for it should be dropping next week or the week after - it'll be our avatars mod, followed by a new signatures mod pretty closely behind it. We'll probably port one of our older mods after that, then see how they sell for a couple of months before making a decision on whether or not it's financially viable to continue XenForo work.

Not really a ton for me to say this week, I've been fighting off the flu and not been doing a ton of work for most of it - it's my fault that Brad's mod is only here on DBTech and not publicly released yet - sorry about that Brad, guys.

Another not brilliant blog unfortunately, but I just wanted to say thanks, sincerely, to you guys who come and read it week in week out.

Still a great blog, I was hoping for vBSignatures to be quicker, nevermind.

You've not asked us to vote over at the vb.org or even mentioned Fillip won last months, although the other mod that is running away in the lead is more of a mini mod compared to your major mods and why it's put up against it I will never know, but ours is not to reason why!

Glad to see you finally jumping into Xenforo...but if you want to value the market of Xenforo (now small, but growing every month), why test this with VERY niche mods like avatars and signature? Understand me, i surely buy the avatars mod and maybe the signature...but imho there are more requested mods on Xenforo like a mail addon or an advanded tab manager (now missing). I'm sure that if you have started with this you will sell more licenses.

Glad to hear, even though I know most of what is going to be in the blog, I look forward to it as well.

I do believe the reasoning behind this is not only to test the waters with popularity of mods for XF, but it is also testing for the Dev's to, it is much easier to make a new mod geared to XF, than it is to take a existing mod with alot of features, and code it for XF.

Decado will be able to answer it more in depth for sure if I have missed anything.

@Freekoid & @CharlieDelta re: vBSignatures - It's more or less complete vB code wise, just waiting on getting default art resources we're happy with.
@Maximilian2 Ozzy hit the nail on the head. It was about picking mods which would be manageable for the coders as they learned to navigate XF. This lets us put out a couple of mods to see how they do and give us a general idea of the scope of the XF side of things - especially since we can't rely on every mod being a huge hit. This will give us a better idea of the baseline for XF, which is much more important than the upper ceiling.

Cheers @GoodApples and @IcEWoLF for the well wishes, and @Webbstre for reading every week!
