DBTech News
A number of news items this week! First up, product releases!
We are happy to announce the release of a new, free mod from @Ozzy47. It is called vBPhrases and is designed to make it easier for you to translate mods & parts of your forum into different languages, or simply to customise the wording of various features to better suit your site. You can read all about it here.
vBOptimise has received a micro-update to v2.5.1 adding a requested feature: finer usergroup control permissions. Basically this lets you set which staff members can administer vBOptimise more precisely. Read more here.
vBMail has also received an update, albeit a slightly larger one, taking it to v1.1.8. This update makes various changes to help with compliance to Google Mails bulk-sending policies. If you use vBMail for newsletters you should update ASAP to help ensure your mails don't get flagged as spam by Gmail. More details here.
In other news @Ozzy47 is still looking for more Closed Beta testers for his vBSuperPMs mod. If a mod making the default vBulletin PM system 10 times better sounds good to you, PM him or comment below to let him know you're interested in being a tester!

Now that the second "Improve your site" blog has been released, what do you guys think of them? I'm considering a few options to do for the more generalised posts about how to improve your site in general terms- here are the ideas I have in mind:
Staff Roles
Who to Hire as a Moderator
Keeping your community active
Content Content Content
Monetization
Which one of those would you guys like to see most?
Oh and for those of you who read this far down - i'm thinking about doing our own Advertising mod soon. It would let you sell ads quickly and easily from your site, with positionable banners linking to a purchase page letting you quickly and easily sell ads directly to potential advertisers. Do you guys have any thoughts/opinions on that?
Thanks for reading, and we look forward to your responses in the comments,
Iain & The DBTech Team
